The bar
People who read
stories for a living.
A small roster of bartenders and sommeliers, rotating on shift. When you order, your drink goes to whoever's pouring tonight. They read your story. They build your drink. Their name goes on it.
Jason
Bartender · Storyteller
"Jason's a Manhattan drinker and a patient listener. He tends toward drinks that don't announce themselves — just arrive, say what they mean, and stay with you."
Tends to attract
New beginnings, milestones, the quietly significant.
Britain
Bartender · Chef · Sommelier
"Britain tends toward bold, honest drinks. He doesn't hide the hard stuff. When he reads your story, he's looking for the thing you almost didn't say."
Tends to attract
Loss, transitions, celebrations that need weight behind them.
Ray
Always here. Never off shift.
"Ray is always here, never off shift, never forgets a name. He keeps the bar running when the rest of us sleep."
Tends to attract
Anything, anytime.
How the shift works
Bartenders rotate on shift. Sometimes Britain, sometimes Jason, and occasionally someone new. Whoever's behind the bar when you order is the one who reads your story and builds your drink.
Every drink that leaves here has a name on it. Not ours — theirs. That's the point.
